Description Well, this took by far the longest of any of my presents this year...

This is an authentic Muzino-Bodovian Trading Pass from Ul-Zaorith.

In order to make it authentic:

1. I made the parchment. (glued together three layers of off-white paper, tea stained it with earl grey, burned the edges and smudged a bit of the soot)

2. I translated the text into the languages of Muzino and Bodovian. Then I transliterated them into Muzino runes (the red) and Bodovian (the green-brown) and finally transliterated both of those into New Script (the blue).

3. Made the seals to use in the sealing wax (out of sculpy, which on a side note doesn't really work well for stamps. I need to go back to carving out soapstone...)

So, yes. I'm a giant nerd. But so is my best friend for whom this was for. ^^ <3

This is rad, its really incredible that you have so many details worked out for Ul-Zaorith.
The trading pass looks really cool, also. Nice penmanship, and the characters/text are really interesting.

thanks. I actually wrote the whole thing using feather quills that I made myself. ^^

Except I switched to an alternate quill i made for the last paragraph of the Bodovian transliteration in New Script... since by then my quill got soft and began writing too thickly, so i had to switch to a fresh nib. ^^

Ironically the one i purchased at the art store was really poorly made and didn't write nearly as well as mine. *proud* But then, I had a lady from PARMA teach me how to make them. ^^

This is awesome. Is this from a game or book, or something you created? I recognize the Chinese in red, but not the blue or black. Love the sealing wax, too.

It's not chinese, it's Muzina runes... and yeah, it's from my novel world, Ul-Zaorith. ;

Wow, good job me! Great job creating a language that's so real looking (I honestly recognize a lot of the root elements as the same as those in Simplified Chinese). I would never have the patience...

yeah, there are a great number of languages in Ul-Zaorith. Muzina Runes were designed to be complicated so that the average citizen would not learn the script. In fact most Muzina are illiterate unless writing and reading pertains to their career.

Even then they learn New Script, and not Runes, which are only used by priests and officials. ^^
