I going to get a lot of hate for this... but I don't care. Before you say: "We NeEd ThE fReEdOm FiGhTeR's In ThE sOnIc GaMeS!!! ThEy WoUlD sAvE tHe FrAnChIsE!!!" Correction: YOU want them. And only YOU. They won't save the franchise; they'd make it worse. Sonic is supposed to be for all ages sure, but the ShatAm and Archie Cast (Maybe with the exception of Mina) would not mesh well with the world of the games. It's supposed to be it's own thing. Like my buddy, Ver2ko said: "It's like demanding an apple, (mainstream games) a banana, (Sonic Boom) a pear, (IDW comic-book series) and a lemon (2019 now 2020 film) to taste EXACTLY like an orange (SatAM/Archie Comics). It's bloody impossible!" And to further rub salt on the wound the games can carry a story without them. So before you, ShatAM Tards yell at me in the comments because I'm criticizing your pwesious ShatAM. Just know that there were MUCH better shows back then. Like Batman: TAS, DBZ, and others. I love Archie Sonic but in realism SEGA will NEVER put them in games and in honesty I am alright with that since some canon in different media should not mix together and this is one of them.

True. It is somewhat of a different universe. Although I think I might like a game specifically held in universe of the cartoon. You know, one that's a little more serious but not with the over edginess of Shadow,

ImagineΒ the characters who will take backseats even in spin off games , in the fave of making freedom fighters centeredΒ characters . Archie fans want something beyond having them in the game . Now there is people who want Tangle and Whisper in the games too , basically when ever character introduced in the comic , people will wish it will be in the games .

This is why I hate to see characters outside of the games , take spotlight or major focus , because fans will cry for them to be in the games , heck there have been times when writers were biased for them against game cast . Just look IDW are giving Tangle and Whisper so much attention ,Β meanwhile team dark are given the boot in zombot arc .
Now I just wish if there will be a comics exclusively focuses on game cast , without shoving OCs in it .

If I'm honest, I like SatAM characters (although with Sally depending on her version I have different opinions) but I agree that they are not necessary in the canon of the games. I would rather see the Sonic X characters in the games instead.

It is very true, I prefer Sally's versions that appears in the Christmas special of AoSTH, Sonic SatAM, and Archie Comics Post-SGW.

The things is, everybody like their own nostalgia.
People who grew up with SatAM will want it everywhere, same for the Comics or Sonic X. It's a bias that is VERY hard to get out of.
Let's face it. The only thing that will be cannon to the games...will be the games themselves. SEGA has no intention of starting a holy war anytime soon.

I'm 100% agreed with this, because like I said before the SEGA game cast and any characters (regardless of any recent animated adaptions) were enough and of course if we're talking about the games, personally, it's safe that the SEGA game cast themselves were enough (unless SEGA/Sonic Team wants to create a brand new character that had a purpose in the new game, regardless he or she was a one-off character or not, I mean, who know, but still, I personally pick that new character created by SEGA/Sonic Team instead of those SuckAM Freedom Fighters such as Sally, Antoine, Rotor, Dulcy and others, any day).
