Description Fall in for paint practice. (Adobe Photoshop -vs- Adobe Illustrator)

I originally copied this in illustrator and used the illustrator paint tools to do the flat colour fills. I figured I should know how to colour properly in photoshop, so downloaded a colouring tutorial from deviantART.

First, I converted the vector drawing into a photoshop smart object (cut & paste), I then rasterised it to get to the scanned pencil stage in the tutorial.

Colouring the flats took an age longer in Photoshop, than the magic paint bucket in illustrator! But then Illustrator is Vector Graphics ! That said the finish is great in photoshop...

So far then, Illustrator seems quicker to this point...But I will practice with shading before I pass Judgement!

I recon you could scan a pencil sketch and trace it in illustrator to get to this stage much quicker...In other words use illustrator as your heavy "pencil" sketch / liner ;0)
