This is Lizzy - An Aboriginal style painting of a Geko.

His back tells the story of creation...The world and the planets being made by magical boomerangs...His back forms the mountains, etc.

He took 5 days to do...not including the drying in between paints.

He is 5' long and cut from a Makralon plastic sheet with a Jigsaw. I found that when cutting, the jig saw blade acted like a hot wire, so it took some time to cut.

He is based in a textured spray paint...everything else was done by hand. I used a brush to paint every dot you see (I didn't count them!).

Next one I do I will use a chewed stick like the real Aboriginal masters, as it achieves a much better round dot. I tried this out in a few places and it works much better than a brush...Although it will take a lot of chewing next time !
