Sterling Silver Designer Button.This is part of my designer button series. The buttons are lightly hammered and with down edges. The edges are buffed to a high gloss to create flash. This overall buttons are buffed to a high gloss finish.
Then a very sparing overtexture has been added that flashes light in many directions at once, much like laser disks, but brighter. It is really quite spectacular to see. This is one of my favorite texture combinations. It is very challenging to photograph, but stunning in real life.

I also turn buttons into cuff links and other jewelry items, including rings, earrings, tie tacs, what have you. I have a new one that I am really happy about. It has a 5 point star on it in reverse, so the star is inset. I need to get a picture of that one and get some interesting jewelry made from the design. It is my most favorite button so far.
I still do not understand why I like buttons so much. Maybe it is the small limited canvas, and the challenge that represents. Some o9f the vintage metal buttons are just amazing in terms of details.
