Steel Raptor — Description
Modeled and rendered in modo with the minimum of Photoshop other than some sharpening.

Back in 1980 I went to see The Empire Strikes back (yes I'm getting on a bit) and I was blown away by the mechs. Not so much the ATAT as I ways thought they were too top heavy looking. Those little bipedal jobbies (ATST) really did it for me though Anyway, that evening I sketched something I had in mind and found it again in the late 90's. I wasn't into 3D then so I knocked up a sort of profile and used it as the basis of this 3D model - which was just a test render really. It might have been cool to have put the model into a scene but I was happy with this particular render and went with it.
