oh my god, this photo is so awesome.
The longer I look at it, the more it seems as if I'm under a net or something.
More people should know about this one.argh.

The sky is drawing you forward... that's what it means to me.
All the lines end at one vanishing point... Much like life seems to lead to one point, one situation, one outcome at times... Inevitability.
Of course, it's only one view, I've never even thought about a 'net', that's an interesting thought.
Hm, yes. It'd be nice if people would respond more to my pieces for starters... I like feedback, makes me aware of where I stand and what can be improved.
But I've joined dA not so long ago, so maybe that's why?

that was a very deep perspective and I can totally see where it came from. I guess people really do interpret things their own way.
Hmm, maybe.
But I actually showed this photo to a friend of mine, she said it was awesome.

Oh, thank you! Spread the word!
Hm, I've only just noticed but when you look at the picture in its wholeness, the closer you are to the spectator, the brighter the sky (small light spot). The farther towards that point into infinity... the more grim and more obscure things become.
People do interpret things their own way, great truth to that. Especially when it comes to music... That's what makes everything so beautiful right? I can tell you how I think it comes across, but as soon as someone finished something artsy, it's out of their hands. It becomes part of whoever allows it... however they see it.

whoa, haha, it's true!
I think it has something to do with the comp screen or something, but it's really awesome anyway
You've just succeeded putting my thoughts into words T_T. I've never been able to say that.
-- and thus comes the reason why there's no right or wrong in art.
But then again, isn't it possible to make art without people being able to interpret things their own way? Like there's only one way to understand the work. Would it still be considered artsy?

SlowlyFallingAwake In reply to aDollInDisguise [2011-03-01 17:48:35 +0000 UTC]
Well, depends if you can consider something 'interpretable in one way'. I mean, obviously, when a lot of symbolysm is involved aiming at one idea, it's more than likely most people will think of that idea. But there's always - at least I think so - a way to think around that thought. You know. But people with a lot of imagination (I consider myself as one) or thinkers will be more inclined to do so, others would be stuck at that one point. It's like with lyrics. Most people consider 90% of song lyrics as a result of break-up or relationship problems. While that can be true (in general), more delicate problems are often at hand (anxiety, psychological problems, suicidal thoughts, escapism...). Think about it
Well, not stuck perhaps. I'm not saying those people are better than others. That would be stupid and egocentric.
But maybe you know what I'm saying?
That's a good thing I can express myself A LOT more through writing than through speaking but some things will always be left unsaid... That's important to keep in the back of your head I think...

But actually saying the words is better than trying to say it through drawings. That's why I think being able to write well is very important.
Lately I've been getting worse and worse with expressing myself with words and have more solved on gestures. No matter how much I want to say something, I don't know how to say it.
I can't use gestures on the internet, so it's especially necessary here.
That's why I feel a little envious of those people who are good with words, like you. heh.

Yeah... Perhaps it is...
I'm writing down my thoughts at times. And rereading them, I sometimes get ideas for texts, for drawings, for how to deal with issues. It's amazing how much you can learn from your own train of thoughts.
Hm, you may think I'm good with words, but no matter how detailed and precise I try to make my texts, I feel like it's never exactly what I envisaged and that there's so much left unsaid...
Since I don't talk that much to people in general, I write quite a lot. That helps yes. Maybe it's best to do that, to not lock it up inside.

it's good to write if you like to do it. It also helps you practice saying things that you want to say. You may not think the thing you've written is the exact way you wanted to say it, but people can see the what you've meant.
It's pretty much the same with any art form. I never get my painting to look the way I want it to look, but through practice I've gone better little by little and (hopefully) people can see what I had meant with the work I had done.
On another note, the way I understood it, you sometimes shut off the world around you and write things. It may be good to do so every once in a while, but........... uh....
what I'm trying to say is that it's very important to interact with people, so if something is actually bothering you, the best thing would be to say it out, not keep it to yourself and write about it.
In a way writing Does help, but it's not the same as speaking to a person in real life.
I'm just so afraid for people who actually do lock themselves up and don't speak about their problems. I know it from my own hand that it never does any good and only makes the person more miserable. So if you have a chance to share things with people, do it!

Yeah, I guess you're right...
You can tell what you mean by looking at your art
Yes, I sometimes shut myself of... but that's how I am. I need moments of peace or I 'shut off' completely. Although it's probably true writing doesn't solve everything.
It's true in a way. Ostracization is a dangerous thing. But I don't consider myself as such.

Well, everyone needs to shut off and have some time for themselves every once in a while, so that's why I said it could be good sometimes.
Have you written any books or started with one? :]

Would you like me too ?
I started a short story... but I still need to translate it into English. It's very dark though, so I don't think a lot of people would like it. It's been brooding in my mind for like forever, so I'm trying to do sth with that mental draft. I'm planning to finish it in my spare time from now on. Also, I don't think I would be good at writing books. I dislike telling too much about what I write, about the characters and so on, I'd sooner have the reader figure out things on his/her own, without having all the answers. Aside from that, books lose their meaning, because most are pretty long and tedious (well, not all but a lot). The tension tends to wear out after a while (except with some masterpieces, but they are of another level). A good example is IT (Stephen King). It begins perfectly, with murders, obscure situations and really gets you thinking. But in the end, it goes over the top, it's too much of a good thing and it ends happily (which is clichΓ© and the ending was a bit misplaced too).
I'd rather have it short and quite vague (but with just enough content to understand), but powerful nonetheless.
When you read Stephen King's short stories, they're very very concise but they shouldn't be any longer, or it would fail to affect as it does. Those are the ones that really stick with me.
I know, I have my ideas about everything Habit of mine.

If you ever feel like writing one, of course I'd want to read one. Although I've always thought that you need to be inspired to write a book, isn't it so in reality?
I think the best thing would be to write down the thing you have in mind and finish when you feel like it's finished.. if you have enough thoughts for it to make it longer, perhaps it'll become a book too.. but otherwise it'd be bad to drag the story on just to make it long.
I've seen plenty of fan fictions on the internet and most of them tend to drag on when getting closer to the end. It's just better to stop when you've written what you wanted.
But hey! A book could be a collection of short stories

SlowlyFallingAwake In reply to aDollInDisguise [2011-03-10 19:58:07 +0000 UTC]
Exactly. You have to be inspired or you won't be able to put across the idea.
It all starts with an idea, be it small or large yes... You never know, maybe someday I will. But for now, I'll settle with short stories . That might evolve though, my bursts of inspiration are unpredictable
