I fell in love with the image. I don't even remember how I stumbled on it, but I love these men!This one has a certain level of symbology involved... The color overlays for each character indicate the noble clan they belong to: Kou(Hong) is Red, Ran is Blue, Shi is Purple, and Si is simply a variation on Shi (this could be a huge spoiler if you haven't read/watched the story...) so it is Indigo. Ironically, they tend to wear the color that is signified by their clan name...
Also, the text used for the overlay is several thousand words from my SaiMono fan-fiction "Utterly Hopeless//Utterly Helpless" (it's still in progress!) and it contains at least casual mentions of Reshin, Shuei, and Ryuuki... ^^
And I suppose I will yield to the blackmail persusasuon of *obasan45 and post it here...
The poem was written (sort of) from the POV of a character not pictured in the wallpaper... It does make vauge mentions of events in the story --well, pre story, I guess-- but could just be considered poetic language ^^ The poem will be posted here in addition ^^

Tamaki and Kyouya were probably my favorite characters, aside from the no-nonsense Haruhi... It should be quite fun to work on

The funny thing is that Haruhi understands Kyouya a lot better than she understands Tamaki, her Prince

Haruhi can read Kyouya because he's straightforward without all the flamboyance to throw people off tempo like Tamaki does. If I were in her shoes, I will also most likely understand Kyouya completely first before I grasp Tamaki as a whole because he is like the wind and changes his mood in a blink of an eye, making his idiocy harder to pinpoint.
But because Vic Mignogna plays Tamaki's English voice, I have come to like Tamaki first, then Haruhi because mokona loves a good romance then Kyouya because his voice actor is also Sebastian in Black Butler-J.Michael Tatum. Then I also like Honey Sempai for the right level of cuteness that I can tolerate in chibified characters-and I don't usually like chibified characters exaggerating the high level of sugar cuteness that will make me gag-that could be why I dont watch shows like Lucky Star, Hayate the Combat Butler and Hetalia.

I mean, he gets to be childish and selfish now because he really didn't get to be when he was a child... and that just makes him all the more interesting and deep as a character. Don't you agree?

Actually I think Ryuuki acting as childish and selfish is his way of getting to the truth of people's characters around him and allows him to decide very quickly who he can trust and who he can't. That's important in his position as ruler. After all for all you know it could be his calculated move honed from years of learning sword fighting. A skilled swordsman needs to assess his opponents with lightning speed in order to stay ahead of the game before clashing.
Considering Ryuuki is an excellent swordsman, this is natural to him without explanation.

I think that may be part of it, but he also donned the act to try to get out of ruling, originally (well, that and his fabulous gay act, haha).
Yet, he also never got the chance to be spoiled as a child... He wasn't even taken care of well by most people (there were really, like... five people who cared about him at all!), so he's a little stunted emotionally. Still, sometimes he really plays it up ^^
He is a bit conniving, so I love him all the more

If Ryuuki wasn't conniving, he won't survive to this age let's say and meet Shuurei what with the history of poison circulating in the palace without people so much as batting an eye to it. He will probably be long dead. He was forced to be smart and calculates his movements carefully before deciding which parties he can let loose and be his true self and which parties he has to put a mask on and be the public figure. After all he lost Seien very early, his only shield of a brother so he was forced to grow up overnight and seek out the people who care for him.
