Botanical Bridge — Description

This painting was a gift for a special friend. It depicts the moment when we first met during a uni watercolour class, painting a Japanese bridge in a little nook within the botanical gardens. I'd recently changed degrees and felt like a bit of an outsider. People were friendly but seemed to have their groups already. I'd typically throw one or two comments into conversations that would either land really well or be awkwardly ignored or repeated more loudly by someone else to immense laughter, haha.

Basically I went off on my own a lot, and this was one of those times. But on this occasion a girl, who I'd never really spoken to, came and asked if she could sit down with me. It was immediately obvious that we were on the exact same wavelength and we were pretty much inseparable from that moment. People had trouble understanding how we could be so close but remain totally platonic, but for us it was easy.

Anyway this painting could be about friendship, lovers, soul mates or family, plus plants.
