Another piece of practice, practice and more practice. Again, not perfect by any means, but an improvement for previous stuff that has been worked on.Dakrstalkers was grand fighting game back in the day and still love to play to this day. Lord Raptor (or Zabal depending on which version you played) was my all time favourite. I mean, how could you not love a Australian Zombie Rocker?
I cross my fingers in the hope that maybe one day there will be an HD version of this classic fighting gem.

..... when i saw this i literally said "Holy shit" why? this is so well done, it looks like it's been taken out of a cartoon.. seriously! the coloring, the character and pose/expression and the glow effect you have going on... it's magnicent!!

I've never really played/heard of the game until just now XD I will say however that this is a really cool looking image, despite the scary but awesome looking tongue and eyes. I really like the lineart. It's very clean and not wobbly like my lineart XD . I also like the softness of the colors and the texture of the background! Keep it up ^^

Hurah! Another fan has joined the team! I think it's very sweet with what you say, but I do feel that my style of shading needs a major improvement as well as to try and get much more loose when applying tones.

Sam, I gotta say when I first say this I was taken a back by how incredibly different it was from what I've seen you post in the past. Your talents have really grown in leaps and bounds since the last time you've posted something. To be perfectly honest, I had thought another artist had done this piece when I saw the preview in the thumbnail in my inbox. But wow, I've gotta say you've surprised me here (in a good way of course).
Incredible work here. Your attention to detail is wonderful in this piece and everything is very well defined. Is it just me or do I also detect a change in your drawing style as well as the change in coloring techniques (more sharper edges and angles vs. softer lines and curves)? While I don't know the character, I can say that you've managed to display a rather creepy and violent image of a strong villain.
A great piece. But perhaps one suggestion (and this may be due to the resolution on the monitor I'm using), the colors seem very bright and soft. They highly contrast with figure. It's a good contrast as it makes the viewer wonder what you are trying to say about this particular figure. But hmm...perhaps a very, very slight darkening of some of the tones may help to make the figure appear more powerful and therefore much more deadly.

Man! You've improved alot! I'm speechless. Only one thing I could whine about is the eyes, it seems like he's looking at different directions.

I haven't played this game, so I'm not sure where canon ends and your creative flair begins, but...damn. The shine and dimension the body-teeth are awesome and despite being digital, the colors leave a nice, ink-colored feel.

Epic, dude, just epic. Darkstalkers was kickass back in the day, and our favorites were Felicia and Talbain, werewolf dude forgot how to spell his name right lol.
Definitely looks almost official, it's just that great.
Probably in the near-future we can see it available for download.

Cheers lads. Dakrstalkers was one of those titles that was great for what it brought to the table in design and gameplay. Good choice in characters too for Jon Talbain is properly the second character that would select.
It's getting there, hopefully in the near future I will approach this game again.

Dude you are awsome. I loved that series. And I haven't seen Lord Raptor in a long time.
I like the use of color on this image, it definatly gives it a feel similar to the canon works.
About the only thing that I notice right away is that some of the fingers look a little strange. Other then that, the pose is really dramatic, the colors work well together and are rich.
Ah, I'll let you know later if I find anything else that seems off.

I agree with you there on the fingers. I re-drew one or two yet they still felt wrong after doing so. I think i should have fixed the problem back when sketching the design rather than in the last stages. Still, I don't think I'm there just yet, but to here that things have improved is a good sign.
