Elli REF — Description
BACK STORY:
Elli, her mother, and her two siblings left their hometown of New Mexico to get away from their concerning past. Elli's father had a serious drinking problem, and after being divorced by Elli's mother, he got into domestic abuse legal issues with his new girlfriends. Elli's father's side of the family disliked their mother for quote-unquote "letting her father get this way" and shunned Elli's broken family. Elli's mother's side of the family disowned her mother when she married her father. They highly disapproved of their marriage and never spoke to Elli's mother since. They were totally alone.
Elli and her siblings were never truly close to their father (they loved their mother though). In fact, they knew nothing about him. He never spoke to them, and Elli's mother refused to speak about anything regarding his name. However, this was still an incredibly heavy emotional load for the children to carry. They did happen to be rather close with a couple of extended cousins on both sides, and knowing that they'd turn like on them so suddenly hurt them deeply. As Elli's mother worked tirelessly to support the three kids, Elli took it upon herself to be the caretaker of her siblings. Although she was only the second-oldest child, she was the smartest and the most responsible. She cooked meals for them and reminded them to do their homework while her mother was away. Elli seemed to recover from the trauma the quickest, but she never spoke of her feelings at all. She just listened to everybody else's. Nobody seems to notice.
They moved to a sleepy town in Pennsylvania to erase their past and start a brand new life. Luckily, that wasn't too difficult since all three children were pretty grown up. Elli was 16, Elli's little sister Lacy was 15, and Elli's older brother Thomas was 18, only a year away from graduating high school.
Elli was introduced to the school by a stand-offish, handsome boy by the name of Felix. He was tall, cold, and he had a cool sense of style. She was starstruck immediately. Despite all that happened in Elli's life, the one thing that never changed was that she was good at making friends and keeping them. Although Felix ignored her and told her she was annoying, she stayed persistent, flirting with him and smiling the whole way. He was intriguing and (secretly) sweet, and she had fallen way harder than she knew was possible. She saw something dark stirring inside of him, like a secret. She wanted to relieve him of it and be there for him.
Eventually, he opened up and they began dating. Elli found out that Felix was secretly transgender, and that he was born a female. This didn't bother her in the slightest. She was pansexual anyway. No matter what Felix was, is, or is going to be, he was still the same person that she fell in love with. In return, Elli opened up to him with her past, and he reacted to it with such care and tenderness that Elli couldn't have predicted in a million years. They couldn't be happier. The end (for now).
