Congratulations indeed for your language efforts. Four languages. Wow!!
Sculpture certainly takes time, but don't give up, you show talent.

Thank you seasoul90 for taking the time to share your thoughts. I appreciate that artists often find words difficult because their gestures are easier. But...my advice would be to try, be totally sincere (as you have been) and your audience will appreciate your honesty.

I was attracted to this work because of the maturity of the expression. You have been very restrained in line and form. I am very attracted to the Zen philosophy and your work would be considered to be in sympathy with its thinking. Contrasting surface treatments, positive and negative shapes that for some reason are connected and suggestive are very pleasing to the eye. So too are the broken and chipped edges. You may be interested in the appreciation of 'wabi sabi' Again congratulations and I look forward to watching your journey.

It's not easy indeed to find words for this kind of art projects if you aren't used to search them . And certainly not in English as I'm not a native speaker (I usually speak dutch, second language in Belgium is french and third language german).

And I didn't look to my work through the eye of the japanese philosophy yet...but I guess you're right indeed

I guess it will take some time before I make any sculpture which I like enough to put on DA. I'm most of all doing photography . But thanks to add me to your deviantwatch

Thank you very much for these flattering words , it's really nice to recieve positive comments of someone who seems to have a lot experience in these kinds of art.
My thoughts on it Well, I actually made it for school, I'm doing my first year of interior architecture and we've got a one hour in a week subject called 'expression'. The task was to make something concerning 'erforation-revelation'. So I started working on this ython and the sculpture is formed on the moment itself, I didn't know before what I would make.
When it was done, I first intended it to stand otherwise, 90° turned clockwise compared to this pic. so the big part was kind of floating and it looks a little unstable and dramatic because of that crack.
As standing here I like him more because it feels better. Can't explain why. But here the rotated part is still dramatic, like an overhanging cliff or something. The crack stays open because of the ball in the middle. The clean ball, which stands in very strong contrast to that random looking crack, creates contact with the other side of the block but it still can't escape on none of both sides. Gives me a little the feeling of the yellow part in the egg.
To counter this crack thing I made that clean subtle whole on the other side of the block. It gives a second looking through but is the only full perforation.

Oh my god, never thought I could tell so much about it but I hope you enjoyed it
Demn, I better wrote this when I had to hand it in but I had no liking on that particular moment to say/write something about it

greeting from Belgium
