My first try at Spike
I wanted to try some "different" poses, and they were quite fun to sketch out.
Also, have you guys heard of clipping masks? I just did and it makes shading soo much easier!

I only started playing with Illustrator and clipping masks. But I've used it for the eyes. How does work for shading?

I'm not that familiar with Illustrator, but in SAI and Photoshop you can add a mask on top of a layer with for example a color fill.
When you start shading on the mask it will only add color inside that fill.
I'm horrible at explaining things, but it's like adding masking tape before painting, kinda

The posing looks quite nice. Twilight's pose in particular definitely brings out a good sense of motion. (I like the arcs in her tail and back.)

Spike is perhaps looking a little bit too static and Twiligt's hind legs were hard to get right
He probably has years of experience of this, so I think he'll be okay
