Linked History: Colors — Description
Alright next heroes on the chopping block Four Swords and Four Swords Adventures! These ones were a little harder since they are one hero but technically four individuals. I also included their appearance from the first time they split and how they ended up differentiating between one another the first time as well as their final looks when they finish their adventure. So as usual information is below.

BEFORE THE ADVENTURE

Link is the grandson to one of Hyrule's blacksmiths and would generally run the new equipment to the Castle Barracks were he was known to sneak around and watch as the knights trained and practiced. Early on he would grab a stick from one of the bushes and practice away from the eyes of the knights that were completing their own training. It was because of this that Link was able to meet the Princess and the two grew close as Link continued to return to the palace. While Zelda knew Link as a friend the town knew Link as a sweet boy with a habit of causing trouble. Link was as quick to offer a helping hand around the village as he was to torment the Cuccos at the farm. But he was quick to fix mistakes when called out for them.

DURING THE ADVENTURE

It was due to his relationship with Zelda that she confided in him her fears as she started getting nightmares and a horrible feeling regarding a dark presence that was sealed away under the palace. She explains the story passed down through the royal line about the corruption that took control of a Mage in ages past that had been sealed within a sanctuary beneath the palace. It was there that Zelda led Link as she investigated the seal and they found it weakened. While there the seal breaks and the corruption that was sealed within the sword takes a humanoid form before taking Zelda from the sanctuary. Link is directed to pull the sword from the pedestal before leaving to save Zelda, though when he does he is split into 4 duplicates of himself that are near perfect except for the differences in hair and eye color as well as Skin tone, the final one, one set in shadow and exuding a malicious aura disappears from the sanctuary before Link can stop it.

Before truly starting the quest to save Zelda, Link takes the three others back to his house, having to sneak out of the palace, past the guards, and through town without being caught. Once home Link finds colored scraps of fabric that he uses to help further differentiate between him and his copies, also going through his other clothing to add more differences to help set them apart. They decide that while alone they would refer to each other using the color of their ribbons while should they run into anyone from town, that the one in the conversation would be referred to as Link.

Through the duration of the adventure the Links begin developing personalities of their own that when the adventure is complete and the four return to one Link has four distinct voices and personalities in one body. While they make it work it gets harder as the main identity no longer fits with the others. Come the second adventure they pull the Four Sword again and are happy to be split, so happy that when the kingdom is saved again and it's time to return the Four Sword to the pedestal they instead find a different way to return the seal without replacing the Four Sword and remain split.

AFTER THE ADVENTURE

After their second adventure the four spend a bit of time in the sanctuary with Zelda to pick names for each of them as the name Link no longer feels like it fits for any of them individually. In the end they found they liked the colors they used to identify each other with during their adventures and picked their names to go with the colors.

Forrest(He/They) in the green when on to pick up his Grandfathers work as the blacksmith after their Grandfather passed away, Jay(He/Him) in the blue and Aster(They/Them) in the purple went on to form a group of scouts that patrolled the areas outside of Central Hyrule to further maintain the monster population, and Poppy(She/They) in the red ended up apprenticing under the witch in the woods outside of Central Hyrule.

During a scouting mission Jay ended up loosing the tip of his right hand pointer finger and always makes up a new story when asked about it (while Aster won't tell anyone what really happened he also knows that Jay won't tell the truth cause he is embarrassed by what happened) and Forrest ended up injuring his left arm after an accident in the forge. Poppy had been called to help at the time though the injury was severe enough that the only way to save him was to amputate the limb. Despite any reassurance that Forrest gives Poppy she still feels that it is her fault as the Healer with him that he ended up loosing his arm as is still struggling to forgive herself even after Forrest has already forgiven her.

It was Aster that initially discovered that their Shadow had remained after their final adventure, though they hadn't caused any destruction since their adventure ended. Shadow was later brought to the house that the four shared and ended up staying with them, mentally and physically still a child he behaved very similarly to how Link behaved before his adventure began years ago. Though he typically remains with Aster or hidden within the shadows of one of the other three.
