this is GOOD. the only thing that keeps it from VERY is the nose or jaw is off. a simple use of facial lines/ guides in the beginning would have taken care of it. no matter how we position our head our nose is always in the middle : ) so as i look at it, i think its the jaw that is off a bit, not the nose. UNLESS you were doing a facial expression where he was twisting his mouth to the side. still it wouldn't be correct in this case. i stared at his a long time before i commented cuz i really didnt want to screw you up when it may be correct but after running it past a pal on here he assured me i wasnt goin nuts.

but holy shit, you have improved!

different angles to a pose/face can be difficult. what helps me a lot is stock photography or taking a picture of myself or a friend in the pose i would like to draw. try it and i guarantee it will work wonders for your realism.

i dig its simplicity and i think its a fun piece. at least that what i makes me feel. i put this next to the piece your mom and i like. im VERY curious to see if any of the books i gave you improve your skill. i just know you'll pull something from them.

Wow thanks! Thank god for .psd files so I can go back and fix it! I was thinking of using a reference, but it was one of those epiphamy type things where I just HAD to draw it. I'll go back over it later and see what i can do.

Oh! and those books helped out a LOT especially the heroic anatomy book. The next couple of pics that i'll be drawing will have some of the techniques incorporated in them.
