Mastermind 0129 — Description
I enjoy comics where the good guys and bad guys can break out fighting at any moment, but they also understand when it is in both side's best interest to talk. We live in a very confused age without classic villains and intelligent conflicts. Alva is still 100% a good guy, but not so blinded by it she can't put her powers away and use these moments to better understand the situation. And yes, that even means talking with (and possibly working with), someone she is 100% morally opposed to.

She puts her mission and her principles higher than her feelings. She would still take Overlord down given a chance, but right now it would be wiser not to. They realize they are the adults in the room. If they piss Duchess off and get on her bad side, that is the end for them. And by the end of the panel, even Overlord realizes he has lost control.

I now realize what losing Jess did to this series. In the original series, Jess was the worst villain of the bunch. Removing her allowed Duchess to step into that role.
