In the ancient world...they weren't as nice. To get people's attention they did some really bad things. If they still taught history these days you would learn that this sort of thing continued up until fairly recently, and then recently this sort of activity has to be disguised under front groups, NGOs, and "freedom" fighters. So it is still happening.

And we think we live in a civilized world. Wake up. Your tax dollars are going to slaughtering civilians somewhere in the world. And half of those come back as kickbacks to the politicians who direct the slaughter through foreign aid money laundering or weapons sales profits. That money could be going towards your healthcare, education, homeless, and roads...but it is being used to pay for mansions and welfare for the elite classes.

And people on Twitter get angry if they feel "my piece of the pie" is going to be taken away. Politics is how they disguise their crimes against the world. And how they steal from us.
