Full name- Shale Hanley

Alias- the Dawn Assassin

Age- 19 (though...okay, she's 20 in War of Wither's End.)

Zodiac- Aries♈

Appearance- long, straight dark auburn hair, light brown skin and very pale brown eyes, wears a white t-shirt with a red and brown stripe on it with dark gray-blue skinny jeans with ripped knees and black lace-up shoes. Has a belt strung across her chest for carrying knives, and a belted pouch around her waist filled with potions. She also wears small black earrings, a black choker, and black wristbands on both arms, and wears a black, red, gray, and white horned mask when she’s out killing people. She also carries an intricate iron dagger and sometimes wears a black cloak (also when on assassin duty). Her default facial expression is ‘annoyed’
She has scars all over her body- one on the side of her right ear, a small one under her right eye, one on her chin, one on her neck (just below the choker), a thick one right above her left elbow, four thin ones one her right forearm, small nicks all over both hands, a large one over her left kneecap, a large burn on the back of her left calf, and one on her right ankle. There’s also a large scar on the back of her head, but it’s not visible because of her hair.

Personality- calm, cool, confident, and conniving, very sneaky and clever, seems introverted but likes to be around people, gets angry easily but doesn’t show it, hates being interrogated, her motto is practically ‘act now, ask questions later’, trustworthy and would protect secrets with her life, always acts like she cares about things less than she actually does, very ambitious and active, goes out of her way to break rules, will hold a grudge until the end of time, is secretly a lot kinder than she initially seems, always determined and passionate, hardly ever doubts herself, sarcastic

Orientation- asexual (and slightly homophobic but won’t admit it)

Backstory- Shale grew up in a somewhat toxic environment. She was the oldest of four kids; Shale, Carlos, Aaron, and Missy Hanley. The four of them stuck together and protected each other, though Shale started to distance herself from the rest of the family as she got older. Their mother was kind of unstable, and became violent when she got drunk (which she was a lot of the time). Her father was a little nicer, but not much. He was a gambler and would do anything for money, and sometimes made his kids help him steal or cheat. Shale’s grandfather Parker was more of a parent to the four kids than anyone else, and he helped them grow up strong despite their less-than-adequate parental figures. Shale loved her siblings, especially Aaron, but found herself spending more and more time away from the family, mostly to avoid her conflicted parents, who blamed her for everything that went wrong with her younger siblings. She struck out on her own adventures, exploring and learning things.
She became friends with the Ocelots, and was part of their group for several years. Even at a young age she was very secretive and smart, but still friendly and fun to be with. Although she was not the leader of the group, the others saw her as somewhat of a ‘big sister’, since she was the oldest. Shale still had many family issues, but chose not to speak of them because she didn’t want to burden her friends. She also still went on many adventures on her own and could be gone for weeks at a time, but would never reveal the locations she went to.
She suffered a head injury at the age of fourteen and lost her memory for several weeks, and when she got some memories back, they were only in bits and pieces. She would openly talk about the things she remembered, not knowing anymore that it was secret information, and eventually disappeared overnight without a trace. The other Ocelots and her family didn’t know if she had run away, been kidnapped, or something worse, and spent awhile searching for her before realizing that she was gone for good.
Shale had, in fact, been kidnapped by someone who knew what had happened to her and didn’t want her spreading secrets. They planned to kill her, but she escaped, and not knowing where to go, where she was, or how to get back to her old life, she had to start over on her own. She was taken in by a mysterious woman known as Horizon, who taught her how to fend for herself. Over years of traveling and fighting to survive, Shale became a skilled killer, and now is an assassin-for-hire.

Biggest flaw- can be reckless and thrill-seeking, doesn’t always look at the ‘big picture’

Weapon- fancy iron dagger with intricate designs, various poisons

Other- is Aaron’s older sister and knows about his Author powers, still has gaps in her memory, good with potions, has a resting bitch face, very active and loves running, parkour, and sparring
