the girl is tang! she is shinji's 'mother'. they were have a crazy conversation about her sending little pokute to destroy shinji, and he was going to blow up her house an dshe put up a diamond wall and, he ended up going "youre always one step ahead of me!/sob" and she answered with "of course, its my job as your mother. "
and somehow that translated into my brain as her knowing when he was ninjaing up behind her with aa sword.
