Description
Squidworms are close relatives both to tetragnathes and armor worms. Their former exoskeletons moved under their skin and are reduced to rib-like structures, but have no real joints, being connected only by muscles and fibers, allowing them to swallow prey larger than themselves, mush like Earth's snakes. Also, their eyes are further developed than those of armor worms, but show no functional differenciation like the eyes of tetragnathes.Squidworms mainly inhabit either lakes and rivers, feeding mainly on aquatic tentaculopods or live in the deep sea as predators and detritivores. In earlier times, they inhabited far more niches, before being replaced by more advanced true tetragnathes.
Torpedofish: An unusually short-bodied species that lives in stone reefs in large lakes.
Gobbler: A predatory, deep sea-dwelling group that can feed on prey of the same size as itself with species specialized on sunken carcasses of the larger pelagic animals.

the eye remind me of a lamprey, , while the body speaks of a kinship to electric eels and morays, two fishes I hold in high regard

ps: if I may ask, is there a family tree of the squidworms and other Red fauna?

There was also a lot of influence from arachnids, flatworms and sea slugs involved.
A family tree is one of the things I should do, but still haven't done. A quick rundown of example creatures to roughly represent the tetragnath evolution would be armour worm > squidworm > squidwhale > spearnose > galleyfin > quadragintapede > cryptodile > flamindog.

They are a bit more advanced, like agnatha, while armor worms can be seen as a pikaia eqivalent.

Cool, nice work on the fins, very realistic ^^ do you have any flamboyant designs? I notice alot of your creatures have what is necessary for survival, but you get alot of colourful fish, insects, lizards, birds and such, it would be nice to see, ^^

Such designs will be usually made on creatures that can defend themselves, like the flying pneumonopteres I'm working on, otherwise they will have camouflage pattern. Also, there are already some bit more colorful species like the red katoblepas and the bioluminescent ones.

ah alright. What about tetra fish? I suppose they live in colourful areas of the sea though.. so you could call that camouflage

I think you mean the fish in coral reefs, where being colorful is a kind of camouflage...but Red Earth doesn't have them. Neon tetras use their iridescent backs as a kind of camouflage to protect themselves from predators outside the water. It could work on Red Earth, but will not be used for the tetragnathes, since they are rare in rivers and lakes, but would work on the small tentaculopods inhabiting them, also some species imitating leaves with their shape.
