Vira — Description
As much as I enjoy the Metroid series, I've never outright tried to draw Samus. Despite her similarity to the Mega Man series (in some ways at least) and my being a big fan OF that series, her armor design has always been too detailed for me to attempt to tackle outright. It intimidates me.

Well, enter , an artist that Deviantart plopped into my 'recommended' feed and what do you know? Their algorithm DOES get it right from time-to-time. His style immediately attracted my attention, a style that I myself have often wanted to cultivate. It has abstract, cartoonish qualities that allow it to be exaggerated and stylized when needed while still maintaining a sense of form and figure to hold an overall aesthetically pleasing appearance. It's simplistic in some ways yet shines with sharp detail, so naturally I click that 'watch' button.

So I was mulling over what to sketch tonight and this little number was sitting in my watch feed. She's not QUITE Samus- though no doubt there's some inspiration there. Well, I'm GUESSING there's some inspiration there, you'll have to ask the actual artist whether or not that's entirely true. All the same I was thinking 'hey... this? This I can draw!'.

So I did. Her name is Vira. She fights tentacle boss monsters with her arm cannon . She's sleek and sexy and will probably cave your head in if you get on her bad side.
