A sad loss indeed. His voice was so recognisable I was surprised to hear 'Scott Tracy' in You Only Live Twice (he's got an uncredited role as a NASA technician in that - as well as uncredited roles both in Diamonds Are Forever and Live And Let Die)

Another great one gone. I'll never forget when I saw him in 'The Spy Who Loved Me', and realized who he was when I heard his voice.

Shane Rimmer [Thunderbirds]Just been informed by my sister Katrina that sadly, the world has lost a much loved actor and voice actor, Shane Rimmer, best known to so many generations of Thunderbirds fan's since the 1960's as Scott Tracy, first of five son's of Jeff Tracy, and pilot of Thunderbird 1.
He was born in Toronto, Ontario in Canada on the 28th May 1929. He sadly passed away, aged 89, at Potters Bar in Herfordshire here in the UK today.
I saw him one time a very long time ago. My family and me was at this small little Sci-Fi convention at a place called Cheshunt here in the UK, and I didn't even know what Shane actually looked like, only knew him by name and his familiar voice as Scott Tracy, and my dad said something to me like "here J, see that man sitting at that table there, that's Shane Rimmer who voiced Scott in Thunderbirds" . . and boy did Shane look absolutely bloody misurable, he looked like he just didn't want to be there because no one seemed to be talking to him, and I never did either myself

Yeah, we've lost a lot of legends over the years, but we have to face up to the fact that just like the rest of us, they are only human at the end of the day, but they'll live on forever, in our hearts, minds and everything we remember them for, TV, film, music etc.
