Description
Very much a WIP - while working with the new outfit, I decided to borrow a character I had created for an old story project (non-Trek), a robot that is almost, but not quite, an android, insofar as it is very obviously artificial rather than an attempt to create an indistinguishable simulation of a human being. The so-called "plastics" of this world were primarily a workforce and caretakers of the planet, guided by a supercomputer. In the context of Trek, the 'golem' are a forgotten remnant of the 23rd century; a handful served aboard some, but not all, starships, and unlike the 'plastics,' these were independent, intelligent - but not sentient - machines, a side branch of the sort of efforts that ultimately led to beings like Data a century later.
As for the image itself, I may completely redo it - her uniform did not come out the way I had intended, as it is supposed to be a light purple, but looks more like a standard blue science uniform. I wanted the 'golem' to have a unique overall look, including the uniform as well as the plasticky 'skin' and mechanical optics. I don't really know why I settled on purple as the overall theme - we'll just have to see how it works out. I also created a unique emblem for the insignia, a gear to emphasize her mechanical nature.

post back to tell us if you would. thanks man
the render is great but here stance if almost to - uh - natural. she doesn't give a slightly awkward vibe about her. just my call is all.

You heard of the saying "Great minds think alike". I have an android character called Golem that I was going to introduce in my stories.
He look nothing like her though.

I'll have to check when I get home - I know it's a piece that only fits Aiko, and I think it was by BATLab, but I'm not sure of that. I picked it because it has a 'hard shell' kind of look that was perfect for my idea of the 'plastics' - everything about them is simulated, but not quite realistic, so along with having 'skin' that is unblemished, even-colored and plasticky, their 'hair' was only a representation of hair, and not individual strands. Plus, it's a very retro style, perfect for the '60s-based aesthetic of TOS.

Unlike any Golem I've ever imagined--which is a good thing.
