I've gotten a couple complaints that my tutorials don't actually teach you how to DRAW guns.I don't know what else to explain so I'll just break down every type of gun I've explained into simple shapes and color coding.
There is no one way to draw guns, and they come in many many different shapes and sizes. This is only the basics.
If you want to learn about every gun, I suggest using google images to reference and/or looking at this site: [link]
Remember, references are your friend. REFERENCE.

Thanks! This is but a small taste of an entire series of gun tutorials I've made though. It's important to understand their function in order to know what is you're drawing, for the sake of believability.
So if you haven't already, I strongly recommend taking a look at the rest of the gun tutorials.

Regardless...it's pretty bad. I can't see the bolt action or where the magazine goes and the trigger seems to be curving backwards for some reason. The scope is missing adjustment knobs and should be elevated more.

I suggest googling "bullpup bolt action" too. Though I've never seen a 5 round 20mm magazine that's behind the trigger. Maybe 'cause it's too freaking huge to go back there. In which case, the magazine should probably be in front of the trigger.
Your rifle's grip doesn't even have space for the thumb to go through, by the way.

Imagination suits me fine, half of my guns shoot pies and cats out of them, anyway.
I dunno, teaching the mechanics of the gun is way more useful anyway. Drawing the gun shape won't really do much to let you draw it moving mechanically, or in perspective which I'd say is the most important part.

The gun shapes are tricky at first, but once you get used to them, they aren't too troublesome. It's the gun detail that's a killer.

references are your friends. Gotcha, although i gotta admit, your pictures are so much more simpler then looking at the actual thing. It's "easier on the eyes"
