Interesting and congrats on the DD. This is a photograph? Where was this taken? Wow, impressive because of all the blinding lightness it has and all that white too boot (actually had to tilt my screen back a bit to see it). I think you should've darkened the structure or the white spaces around it to make it easy to see.

That's odd, I wonder how this got a DD.

It got a DD because I thought it deserved a feature. You can send me a note and I'll be happy to discuss my choice.

I'd love to see your architecture photography that's more deserving/amazing.

Zegaroth In reply to bohobella [2012-04-21 00:00:13 +0000 UTC]

I don't draw architecture. Is this architecture? It seemed like some sort of modern art.

Besides that, it also seems my comment has attracted quite a few defenders of this picture.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

bohobella In reply to Zegaroth [2012-04-21 00:14:18 +0000 UTC]

It's a photograph of architecture, yes. Not a drawing.

Obviously, because it's an excellent photograph, and it's not the correct thing to do when you do not approve of a Daily Deviation. You should contact the person who featured it, don't write hateful messages to the artist who did not choose to be featured.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

AKsroa4a In reply to bohobella [2012-04-21 06:48:51 +0000 UTC]

His/her comment wasn't really hateful. S/He said s/he wondered how it got a DD, which is a legitimate statement. Although, in your defense, s/he should have looked at the category it was placed under, instead of assuming it was a drawing.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

bohobella In reply to AKsroa4a [2012-04-21 18:57:48 +0000 UTC]

That has nothing to do with the art itself and shouldn't be written to the artist, it's offensive to their work.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

AKsroa4a In reply to bohobella [2012-04-23 07:03:58 +0000 UTC]

Asking a question about an award for the art, does have something to do with the art. (Reference, "for the art.") If anything, your comment was the offensive one; "I'd love to see your architecture photography that's more deserving/amazing." His/her wondering of how it got a DD is no different from a person wondering how Picasso is famous for seemingly mediocre art, which I can assure you quite a few people wonder. Art is subjective, not objective, so if you wish this person to keep their opinion to his/herself, I recommend you lead by example.

As I already said, this is not the correct place to ask about DDs, I'm only doing my job.

AKsroa4a In reply to bohobella [2012-05-01 20:13:07 +0000 UTC]

"I'd love to see your architecture photography that's more deserving/amazing." This may just be me, but that doesn't sound like doing your job. That sounds like an insult.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

bohobella In reply to AKsroa4a [2012-05-02 07:02:05 +0000 UTC]

That was me doing my job indeed, because I knew they didn't know this was a photograph. Getting pretty butthurt over a discussion I had with someone else that ended quite nicely, aren't we?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AKsroa4a In reply to bohobella [2012-05-03 00:12:50 +0000 UTC]

I think someone's just in denial that they did their job wrong.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

bohobella In reply to AKsroa4a [2012-05-03 01:04:10 +0000 UTC]

Not at all. I had a very pleasant-ending conversation on this piece, and you're butthurt, but I'm not really sure why.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

Anekmehkt In reply to bohobella [2012-04-21 22:13:48 +0000 UTC]

I don't understand how the word 'how' in a simple question is so offensive, there's no need to get so defensive over a simple comment that even the artist doesn't care to answer.

If the artist isn't butthurt over the question there's no need for you to be.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

bohobella In reply to Anekmehkt [2012-04-21 22:36:25 +0000 UTC]

I am a community volunteer. It's my job to tell them where to go if they have an issue with our DDs, and this is not the place. The artist does not deserve this crap, they did not ask to be featured.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Anekmehkt In reply to bohobella [2012-04-21 23:23:38 +0000 UTC]

So as a Community Volunteer you feel it's your job to tell people who ask simple non-offensive questions to 'STFU' if you're not going to praise it? Really? That sounds more like White-knighting. In all honesty the person who asked doesn't have an issue with it, they were just curious.

Well since it's your duty why don't you defend people who actually receive shit from others instead of just doing this on DD's?

Getting butthurt over that is just far more funny then offensive, you need to cool your heels and relax and wait when someone says 'What a piece of shit!' or just openly starts swearing at the artist. I mean it's no wonder why some people don't comment anymore, they get told off by easily butthurt users like yourself.

Hope I didn't turn your day into a tragedy!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

bohobella In reply to Anekmehkt [2012-04-21 23:27:46 +0000 UTC]

It wasn't non-offensive. I think there's only one white knight here, and it sure as hell isn't me.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Anekmehkt In reply to bohobella [2012-04-21 23:39:05 +0000 UTC]

Pretty sure it is since the com-mentor didn't call it 'shit' or the like. You sure those are none of your comments being defensive over there?--> [link]

Sounds like white-knighting to me:
1. 'I'd love to see your architecture photography that's more deserving/amazing.'
(Lol, the usual 'if you're not good enough, you can't comment' excuse.)
2. 'Obviously, because it's an excellent photograph, and it's not the correct thing to do when you do not approve of a Daily Deviation. You should contact the person who featured it, don't write hateful messages to the artist who did not choose to be featured.'
(Wat? Lolz.)
3. 'I am a community volunteer. It's my job to tell them where to go if they have an issue with our DDs, and this is not the place. The artist does not deserve this crap, they did not ask to be featured.'
(Again, wat crap? The only thing this Artist doesn't deserve is you being overly sensitive over nothing.)

The more you respond denying it the more I'm loling at you.

bohobella In reply to Anekmehkt [2012-04-22 04:54:07 +0000 UTC]

A comment doesn't have to be flaming to be offensive. I simply redirected them to the proper place to voice their opinion, and as it turns out, one of my assumptions was right: They didn't like this piece because they didn't even know what it was.

You're cute. Desperate, but cute.

This is a photograph? I suppose I must give it some credit then, I thought it was a vector of some sorts. I wonder what place that is.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AKsroa4a In reply to Zegaroth [2012-04-21 06:50:23 +0000 UTC]

It says the place in the Artist's Comments. Liège-Guillemins railway station, which I believe to be in Belgium, but don't hold me to my word on that.

Are you kidding me? I've not seen an interior architecture picture like this before; it's pretty great.

Zegaroth In reply to SweetButtermilk [2012-04-20 23:57:19 +0000 UTC]

Yet so simple. No details or anything, just straight lines. The composition and monotonousness is nice though. It all depends on your taste in art, I never really liked that kind with a few multicolored shapes placed in areas combined with other shapes.
