Not necessarily.

There are more alternate costumes in smash than you think, here's a list of all the alternate costumes
in smash. (Including the new fighters, info from the smash wiki)

1. Wario's Classic costume (from his non-wario ware appearances, has its own pallet)

2. Bayonetta's appearance from the first game (her appearance from bayonetta 2 is default)

3. Cloud's appearance from FF7 Advent Children

4. All seven koopalings are alternate costumes for Bowser Jr. (he doesn't have a standard color pallet)

5. Corrin and Robin have male and female variants

6. Duck Hunt's pallet consists of alternate constumes based on different dog and duck species

7. The inkling will have male and female variants and alternate costumes for each

8. Link has his appearance from breath of the wild, dark link, and fierce deity link as alternate costumes

9. Little Mac has his pink hoodie and wireframe model as alternate costumes

10. Mario and Luigi both have their "fire flower" outfits and mario also has his NES Golf, Mario Maker, and Tux (from oddessy) outfits
as alternates. (Mario Maker and Tux costumes are exclusive to Ultimate, the Tux costume also replaces marios fire flower outfit.

11. Meta Knight has Dark Meta Knight and Galacta Knight as alternate costumes

12. Pikachu and Pichu have various hats, a different one for each color choice.

13. ROBs default and first alternate are a reference to his appearance in different countries. (His default is his appearance here in usa,
and his first alt is his appearance in japan, this is reversed in the japanese version of the game)

14. Pokemon trainer will have male and female variants

15. Meta Ridley will appear as an alternate costume for Ridley (not just the colours, the actual meta ridley)

16. Each of the Villagers alternate pallets is an alternate costume and color

17. The Wii Fit Trainer has male and female alts, and each as two possible outfits

18. Zero Suit Samus has an alternate costume based on her outfits at the end of Zero Mission and Fusion respectivley (and both
are a bit more revealing than her usual suit)

Now, look at this list and tell me again that Nintendo dosent do alternate costumes.

Yeah kinda like how Wario who had many alt colors with original and alt costume in Brawl, It would of been fun to play as Kaptain K Rool, Dr Baron K Rool or even King K Rool in a boxer costume, But personally i would of rather more in Kaptain K Rool costume since i like his hat and coat since he looks more menacing and a more highier pirate than Kaptain Skurvy (Klump's older brother in Donkey Kong Country TV series who is also used as a pirate version for Donkey Kong Country 2)

Got the hat, the helipack and the boxing gloves at least. Would've been nice to see full costumes, but honestly the execution looks great. Love what they did with him.

If you didn't know, Mad Max is a movie franchise set in a gritty post-apocalypse world of scavenged automobiles and motorbikes. Some of the designs kremlings have had throughout the Donkey Kong series (and particularly in DK64) remind me a bit of Mad Max (leather jackets, chrome skull buckles, etc) so I don't think it would be a stretch if K. Rool's next style (after military, pirates, and science) was dystopian motor-punk.

I used Photoshop CS5 for this, though older versions of Photoshop have almost all the same functions that I used.
