"Thank you," Jena wept and she wrapped her arms around Scarlet. Stunned by the teen's sudden change in emotion, Scarlet simply returned the hug.
"Thank you," Scarlet replied after a long pause.
"You do not know how lucky you are to still be alive," Christian said.
"What do you mean?" Scarlet asked. "This isn't the first time I've nearly faced death."
"Christian said...," James started, but stopped as something caught in his throat, but he continued. "Christian said that during the procedure, you were going to die."
