Born into captivity to a circus elephant, Snuffles' early life was a whirlwind of color, people, loud and confusing noises and dirty pens. Her anomaly made her an attraction despite her tender age; She was separated from her mother for long hours and often paraded for a crowd of onlookers and while they were mostly nice and threw her good things to eat, the hours became tiring on long days which made her ill and despite this the ringmaster would become nasty if she didn't comply with her appearance times.
She did what she could to avoid the scolding strikes on her legs and ears, believing this was simply what her life was suppose to be and knowing nothing else until the day her mother became enraged upon them being separated once more and seeing a handler striking her on the rump to quicken her pace.
The Donphan attacked and killed the handler and as more came in to try and control the situation the only way they knew how were forced to deal with a rampaging elephant who had enough and trampled through them to break out of the pens, taking Snuffles along.
She was told to run, because these men would get jeeps and dogs and their boomsticks and bring them back again and the new surroundings they passed through confused her even more; Streets and parks and roads filled with screaming people and honking vehicles. She was told to keep running and not look back when what sounded like the cracking of thunder cut through the air coming closer and closer to them and so she kept running until she reached the outskirts of the city only to realize that her mother was left behind.
She hid in the bushes, hoping the the older Donphan would reappear but they never did and suddenly she was alone in a strange world far away from the circus tent she knew; cold and hungry and wet as a storm started to rage in from the coast and she wandered off further in search of shelter. She found it breaking into a shed in the corner of large, fenced grounds which she trepassed upon and to her relief there was food stored here too which she made short work of before she was found sleeping there hours later by a perplexed Rhames who had come in to pick out rations for his Pokemon' feeding sessions.
Discovering where she came from though, he decided against surrendering her to her former owners more so after he recieved news that her mother was shot in the streets after killing two more handlers and causing infrastructural damage downtown.
That part of her life was done with, and now a new chapter for her in his household began.
