Description
Another scan from my sketchbook. I still need to do the actual windmills and add fences around the edges (we don't want Noodle to fall off, right?).Big picture is big
Gorillaz belong to Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, this island belongs to them.

Aww X3 I'm still working on it. I've scanned the version with windmills, fences, and other details, so I just need to clean that up and color it, and then it'll be really ready for sitting. :3

HAWW YAY!!! 8D What colouring equipment are you going to use- paint, digital..?

Digital, because I'm a perfectionist and I'm too anxious about messing up when I use traditional paints/colors. XD Sometimes I use colored pens, though, but for this one, I wanted to make it look as close to the real thing as possible. It's not an original work at all, just a tribute to Jamie's drawing. But it's one of my favorite concepts I've ever seen (I've actually considered getting it as a tattoo), so it's fun to make. :3

It's one of my favourite concepts too!!!
Whenever I put on a Gorillaz CD in the car and Feel Good Inc., El Manana or the peaceful parts in All Alone and White Light come on I'm looking peacefully up at the clouds at an imaginary windmill floating islands.
It's just... soothing, a note of optimism (like I think Noodle said?) :")
A windmill tattoo would be so cooooolll!!!!! X) Maybe in my thirties, if I'd still like to, a 23, an anchor, a windmill island, a peace sign or Bonsey I'd like as a tattoo. :3
WOOWWW ^^ So looking forward to the coloured version then!! *Does a little dance* XD
So you'll use a tablet for digital? For I'm hoping to get a tablet to learn animation digitally on (hope to be an animator one day) and not sure what tablet to get.
I'm absolutely sure it'll look marvellous!! So far so amazing! X)

Exactly! It's such a peaceful idea, to be sitting on a flying island, clouds all around you, strumming on your guitar or just watching the sky go by... X) And to me, it also represents a sort of courage to be yourself, and to do what you think is right regardless of what anyone else thinks of it. Like, Noodle is much more free and independent than 2D, so she's on her windmill island, but 2D wishes he could just break out of the "endless party" and go be with her, but his own fear holds him back...
The only problem with a windmill tattoo would be that it's a very detailed structure, so unless I dumbed it down a bit so it could fit on my ankle or wherever, I'd have to put it on my side like this [link] guy, and I don't want to do that ever. xD
Yus, I got a tablet from my ex boyfriend (and still great friend), who actually just graduated college and is now an animator. ^^ I think you'll go very far, you've already got the talent! I suggest you look into Wacom tablets, but that's just me.

Murdoc's also holding him back for the vocals... XD
But yes definately! :""D I love Noodle's free spirit, when we were writing about inspiring and unique characters in media last term I rambled about Noodle's amazing individuality. She's kind of like a symbol of hope, it feels, such as her return in On Melancholy Hill too.
Maybe you could use this image of the windmill for an ankle tattoo: [link] (In fact the title of the page I found it on is called "Mission Tattoo" XD)
Haww thank you so so much!! :"D Do Wacom make tablets which you can see your picture on the tablet screen instead of the computer screen? It looks like they'd be easier than the ones where you look at the computer screen while drawing on the tablet- but I haven't tried so I shouldn't assume. XD

Ha! True. XD
I definitely agree, Noodle is definitely a symbol of hope for many people. c:
Maybe, though then it would just be mostly Noodle. I always thought that picture was cool, though.
Not that I know of. They have a bunch of cool products. I have their bamboo tablet, and I bought my friend one of their "Inklings" (which record every stroke you draw on paper, and transfer it directly to digital strokes on your computer). Tablets are a lot easier to get used to than you'd think. I didn't even use mine for the longest time because it was so hard to make clear, straight lines... Then I realized you can put your hand on the tablet to steady your strokes, and it won't pick it up. Now I use it every time I'm making art. ^^

:icon
Oh, when I sent it I meant the windmill part by itself as a tattoo, XD
the way Noodle's on it is so clever, they way she's holding that helicopter which shot her down showing how she's actually so much more powerful than them, (she lived!) and she's like "Nice try" XD
That's so so cool!! So there would be a lot of hand-eye coordination.
Heehee yeah those ones I was talking about before turn out to be really expensive according to my friend, XD so a bamboo one sounds good to start with.

Ohhh, okay! XD And yeah, that's why I like it so much. Just her expression like "You can't defeat me..." I love it. C:
I guess, but you do get used to it after a while. It's different from drawing on paper, though. I'm not sure about price ranges, actually, since this one was a gift. I hope you're able to get one that isn't too expensive!

YAY 'tis my desktop at the moment. X3
*clenches fist in determination* Noodle, you're an encouraging soul. :"3
Ookie dokie! My friend brought hers to school and when asked where she got it she said Ebay for 300 - 400 dollars, and it's a Bamboo one. So one like that looks really cool! ^^
It is nice that our teacher is letting our projects be done in digital work or whatever material we want.

I sure hope so. :3 I'm planning to draw in the fences, windmills, and touch-ups, and then color it all in digitally.
