Wake Up.. — Description
Sorry for the downer mood again, I'm not really mopey at the moment, but just had this idea and wanted to illustrate it. I also wanted to draw a character that I don't have much experience with, apart from Timon and Pumbaa; Zazu was one of the least drawn characters in my years of drawing TLK. He's a pain in the ass to draw, but I still like his design. Multiple references had to be used of course, he's impossible to get right otherwise.
I found Zazu's rapport with Mufasa pretty adorable, I wish we got to see what happened when he woke up from being knocked unconscious by Scar. Maybe the remake will go into it..

I really hope for the remake to explore extraneous characters like Zazu more. Given the longer running time and leniency for darker themes, they can really go all out! This is why I choose to remain optimistic and excited to see how they can expand on this universe.

I have a few commissions to do atm, but after I'm done with those, I'll be getting straight back into the 'He Watches Over' comic. Thank you for your patience.
