There's a lot to express in this scene. Some may pick it up, others may not. A lot of people have said "She never really CARED for that thing! She just spared it in a moment of weakness and dumped it on those scientists, content to never see it again! She didn't give a crap about it.".Well sure, maybe not AT FIRST, but I'd like to think that in those last moments of the creature's life, Samus would realize how meaningful its actions were and be moved by them, as shown here. She's SURPRISED to be alive, and certainly grateful.
But, you-know-who starts exhaling purple breath and picks themselves back up, showing just how unfathomably strong something like that must be to survive a Metroid attack.
I'd like to think that some calming and sweet music would play in those first several panels, only to be cut off by the mumbling of Mother Brain as her terrifying theme music starts playing again.

Halo 3 has a beautiful soundtrack. Don't take my word for it. Martin O' Donnell is an amazing composer. Check out Halo 3's other tracks. I know you don't really like Orchestral Music in video games when it's done with no taste, but this has a lot of heart and emotion.

I'm SERIOUSLY enjoying this comic. But something I would recommend, is making the scans that Samus makes, a little more subtle. For example, instead of "Super Metroid is transferring energy from Mother Brain to you", just simply writing "Energy currently transferring". Or for the previous page, "Mother Brain energy: Decreasing". Just a suggestion. If the way you're doing it works better for you, than continue, it's your comic after all.

I only made it so blatant because this is a flashback to something from the games and I don't want to confuse the heck out of people I'd like to read this who know next to nothing about Metroid at all.
