Description

So she's finished!

This is Pwndulum. Her name is of course a play on Pendulum, of which I expect you to know what it is.
She's made of a G1 pony Lemon Drop.

Her theme is Steampunk. But she's not an aviatrix or mechanic, or fancy lady. Just a theme-pony with a matching colour sheme and such.

Her base coat is painted in a way that makes it look vintage and a bit dirty, like rust.
She has been rerooted in 3 different colours of nylon hair and her tail has been curled, she has one braid in her manes.

Her brand mark is a sculpted clockwork heart with real clockwork gears, just like her collar and armband. These gears are from 1920-1950 to achieve an old effect.
Under the heart are painted specks of brass paint with little gears sticked onto some specks.
Her armband features clockwork gears, a sculpted clock and two straps.
Her collar is 'studded' with clockwork gears as well.

Her green eyes have been sealed with glossy varnish. The rest of the body has not been sealed to avoid excess shininess.

Unfortunatly I have had a few accidents with exploding superglue, the stains have been covered up with paint, but those parts are a tad embossed. Her choker has white stains as you can see in the pictures. She also has some excess superglue in the roots of some hairs, which sadly weren't removable. ):
At least I learned not to use superglue anymore.
Glue gun it is, from now on.

This pony will not be for sale due to the flaws mentioned above. If you're still interested feel free to note me though :]

The rust effect on her coat is a very nice touch. And I think the little glue derps are small and unnoticable enough not to detract from the awesome design. c:

Thanks c:
I have mixed opinions about the golden streaks, it's more to the green side than the yellow side in bright light. It doesn't look that bad though.

Custom pony is awesome. Damn. I love the little details on every piece of it and the clockwork on it looks very nice. If this is what you do to a pony, I wonder what will happen at the next Elf Fantasy Fair. Hurr.

Same here I suppose. Or when anything goes wrong I tend to want the fabric apart or something equal to that.

And I tend to spill everything lol.

Cool, and if you do use superglue again, you can just use some high-acetone nail polish remover to get it out. You might have to re-paint the area afterward, but hey, the glue will be gone.

Neozaki In reply to secretsheik [2010-05-28 10:22:18 +0000 UTC]

Been there, done that, doesn't work. I have had the place soaked in pure acetone even. I lost a few layers of paint, but the glue didn't even loosen up.

That's crazy... oh well, I guess you'll just have to be careful. I myself use the Super 6000 glue for most of my customizing. It's not as permanent as superglue, and WILL come off if you try hard enough, but it's strong enough to where you do have to try fairly hard. It's a good middle ground. If you really want something stuck for all eternity, I suggest Milliput epoxy putty, but not on pure plastic.

I'm rather happy with the clockwork heart. Gears are a fun addition.
