Quite a few have asked me how I made my Steampunk goggles, so instead of having to repeat myself I decided to make a tutorial
This way of making a pair of goggles is perfect if you're on a tight budget, as you've probably got all you need in your house already ^_^

Just one thing, do you have a template for the pieces of leather which make the eyepieces? How do you work out how they should fit?

I would also recommend putting some kind of protectant liner on the edge of the lenses, just in case...

Very cool! One question: how did you cut out the middle of the bottle caps? I broke the entire cap trying scissors and other materials I found.

I used a craft knife, had no problem with that

I think they were some kind of hard plastic. Thank you! I made my goggles already using the glasses of two clocks. It's hard to imagine what it should look like but it's cool, I'm telling ya'!

I didn't measure the pieces, but the short side was measured to reach around the bottle caps, and overlapping a bit. So the ends could be stitched together. The length of the side that stick out from the caps and rests against your skin/hat were a bit longer. I didn't measure this part either, just cut it long enough to be sure it wouldn't be too short. The shape was just a square. I cut the pieces into right shape and length once they were stitched in place around the bottle caps.

Are there any other materials you can suggest besides leather? I love the tutorial, but I'm pretty much an eco-lover and I hate to use leather in any of my projects. D:

Hehe, I know the feeling! If you still want the leather-look, you could use pleather or leatherette, which is synthetic leather, plastic basically. Most fabric stores or hobby stores have these types. I hope that helps
