Description:
                 The Daedalus Consortium Marine Corps’ premier long-range designated marksman rifle, a bullpup, coil-accelerated, anti-material precision weapon intended for augmented infantry, exosuit operators, and orbital shock troops. While classified as a DMR, its real battlefield role is somewhere between a sniper rifle, an anti-materiel rifle, and a portable autocannon.
                The bullpup layout allows the weapon to mount a full-length 46-inch coilbank barrel while keeping total length manageable for ship boarding and urban breach operations. Nearly the entire rear half of the weapon is dedicated to stacked electromagnetic coils, heat sinks, and the kinetic stabilization unit that prevents recoil from liquefying the shooter. Each shot is a 25x150mm Stryker round, encased in a ferrite-flux skeleton for coil conduction. Initial velocity is high enough to punch through two feet of composite Duranium, disable light vehicles with a single hit, gorily explode human targets, and rupture pressurized armor across a wide radius from shockwave alone. Said rounds are smart-tagged and communicate with the rifle’s onboard computer to stabilize spin, trajectory, and impact behavior. The Rancor DMR comes equipped with a VKS-12 Godeye Optic Core (25× variable magnification, infrared, ultraviolet, lidar-assisted), a predictive ballistic solver for shots up to 3 km, and range-adjusted coil output, automatically tailored to reduce overpenetration in friendly-adjacent environments.
            A dorsal radiator spine and internal cryo-gel reservoir prevent thermal runaway. The ergonomic shell is magnetically sealed and shock-isolated, allowing marines to shoulder-fire it during microgravity maneuvers or under atmospheric turbulence.
