Morgan — Description

On that fateful February night in 2004, the child was born. Her birth had been risky, especially with her mother going in and out of consciousness. Talks of abortion and a c-section were abound, but she was born nonetheless.
Her mother’s condition, however, was still unstable. She had suffered from many mental health problems, including Bipolar disorder, causing her have harmed herself. Yet, she was determined to bring the child into the world, even arranging for her adoption. She knew she was not fit for motherhood.
However as the child was placed into adoptive care, Morgan quickly began to loose grip with the reality of the situation. Her adoptive parents didn’t want to explain the whole situation with her mother to her yet, especially with them loosing her once Morgan had reached 4 years old.
While Morgan knew she was adopted, she never quite knew why. And that weighed on her. Her mental battle caused her to become reserved. She began to take up art, and her awkwardness around others at school pushed them away.
The circumstances around her birth had lead to several mild conditions, including Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Anxiety Disorder, and Dyslexia. But she never really liked to talk much about any of it.
Especially when reaching adulthood, she began to hide her conditions from others. She didn’t like bragging about having Autism or Anxiety like many people around her did. It didn’t seem like something to brag about. Instead she just stayed quiet and tried her best to blend in.
However her mental health continued to make her life a struggle. She found herself to be frequently stress eating. At 5’9” and 240lbs, she was considered obese, and her sedentary life style made it difficult to overcome. However with help from her girlfriend, she was able to find other methods to distract herself from the pain of every day life.
She took up drawing, constantly sketching people like her. And she would take up projects around the house, doing her best to build and repair things, regardless of being in a wheelchair.
The two ended up adopting two dogs and two cats, as well as moving into a house together. Their home was old, and the floor creaked under the weight of her and her 140lb wheelchair, however it was another piece of independence for her. Another way she overcame the reality of the world she lived in.
She took a deep breath as she sat in front of her computer. Finishing up her latest drawing, she wondered again what would it be like to escape her life and become someone else. She shook her head and saved the file, preparing to type up a description before posting it.
Maybe instead of escaping, it was time to reveal who she really was.
