Description
I have been thinking to make tutorial about wings for a while. And now it's done!Or part of it.
Duh, it's more like tips for drawing.
There is much more to tell about them, so I might do part two too.
Hope it helps somebody.

Nice tutorial but I find the extra bones in the elbow and wrist rather silly and painful. You drew a perfectly good bat wing. Nature made things that way for a reason. Take your cues from nature and you'll have more believable wings. Here's a great tutorial that I'm using in my 3d model Bat Wing Tutorial by harrie5 on DeviantArt which is an interesting take on bat wings and dragon wings in general.

hey np, the theory still helped me make these
oddly enough I wound up having to rig for the elbow finger for folding reasons, although I never modeled it. I made those wings in both zbrush and Blender, rigged in Blender but I put the winged people on hold pending the next version of Manuel Bastioni Laboratory , which I use for my humanoid characters but the wings themselves will remain the same. I also did the underwear but I honestly can't model people worth a darn. Give me an object or basic clothing like boots, undies and attachments and I can model your pants off. (Or on as the case may be.)

That bird's wing looks awesome and that dragon's wing is very unique
But that bat wing, if it's basic shape, where did that extra bone come from?

I'm just wondering what's with all the extra bones on the forearms? Is it to mimic the way the wings connect to the back legs of a bat?

If you mean that bat wing thing, I realized that it needs repairing yes. It's just that when you don't think what you are doing, things happen. Usual for me. I have gotten used to that.
