Superman Red and Blue — Description
I'm currently working on an idea for a Superman animated series called The Man of Tomorrow. For those not in the know, Superman would seem to have gone the way of Mickey Mouse; some people find him boring because he's "too powerful". Almost all visual media versions on Superman focus on the plain old superhero vs. supervillain battles, but Superman has so much more to him. The idea behind this show is to give more exposure to the less action-y, and more philosophical, moral, and ethical focused aspects of the character. I have several episode ideas written up, most of them adaptations of specific storylines ("What's So Funny About Truth, Justice, and the American Way?"; a story with an alien scientist and a creature called The Union; a heavily modified version of the Rann Thanagar War).

A two part episode is an adaptation of the "Superman Red/Superman Blue" storyline, and these are my designs for the two split versions of Superman. Instead of both of them having electricity based powers, I redesigned them to have ice and fire based powers, in reference to his heat eye vision and his freezing breath. Normally, in these "character split into two" stories, one side is always cerebral but indecisive, and the other is always irrational but action oriented; I plan on flipping this a bit, basing the cold and hot Superman personalities on Robert Frost's Fire and Ice, the main personality aspects being desire and hate, respectively.
