MightyKaytor,
This is very "pop-ish" and 60's comic book style. The style reminds me of Archie Comics. This Roy Litchenstein was a very influential guy. A lot of comic artists take to his style. Good stuff MightyKaytor, good stuff...
Was any reference used for this?
Which media did you work with?

Well, with Lichtenstein, it was rather the opposite- Comics influenced him. His best-known works resemble enormous comic panels(complete with sound effects and speech balloons) blown up to show the ben-day printing process used to mass produce comics at the time.
I did not use any reference except a few rough sketches, but maybe I should have because looking at it now, I see a lot of mistakes. The medium is Gouache, which is like watercolour except it is opaque and dries with a lovely matte finish that scans like nothing else.
