This's how I usually clean up my lineart scans.Btw, it's better to use large size soft round brush for the dodge tool.

I can't find the dodge tool on it (mine's photoshop elements 7.0)
And this was pretty neat.

I have a photoshop elements 8.0, but i think our's should be roughly the same. For me, the dodge tool should be on the very bottom left of your toolbox. However, it may be preset to the Sponge Tool. So, to get the dodge tool, click & hold the Sponge Tool (it should be a picture of a yellow sponge) and you'll see the dodge tool.

well the dodge tools should be able to clean those up, you just need to be careful not to erase the lineart too

This works in older versions too, yeah.
I prefer doing manual curves for each channel (because whenever I scan / photograph something there's bound to be a colour cast on it), but the dodge tip is a great idea. Thanks!

Awesome! I hope to try it in PS7, that's what I use. I've been dying for a way to clean up my line art without inking it. I feel that pictures loose feeling if inked in. It looses that sketchy-ness. Good job! I'll give it a go!
