Captain Vitani — Description

Vitani from Lion King 2 / Lion Guard appears & will be appearing as a ZPD Captain in my Zootopia fanfic set.

Captain is a high rank in Police forces, requiring (on a rough average in the US ) a minimum of 12 years in service, usually more, and that's if you meet all other qualifications and have an exemplary service record. Vitani did have an exemplary record, of course, and was granted the rank promotion at a comparatively young age of 32. ( she's now 33 as of "present day" in the fanfics )

Since Captain is the rank where you really begin blurring / transitioning from policing to command deskwork & oversight, and in my version of Zootopia each precinct has 1 Captain serving under the Deputy Chief, each precinct's Captain is assigned a particular segment of administrative & oversight work to handle for the ZPD. Vitani's segment she deals with is promotional review, so she's in charge of reviewing officers' applications for rank promotions, and grilling them over it.

While she IS Vitani, she's not just a copy-paste version of herself from LK2 / LG. Since she exists in, and grew up in Zootopia her life's obviously been "a bit" different. I thought she deserved a better life than she had in LK, so in Zootopia she was NOT raised starving by an abusive, sociopathic mother. She's still a "tough" character, but not psychologically / emotionally damaged.

She's not the only outside character to be appearing in my Zootopia fics, though my chosen characters to appear aren't the usual import choices.
