Echoes from the Rim pg. 45 — Description

First Page Chapter Start
Finally finished this page after nearly a month and a half. The next pages won't be this involved, or take this long. I'm surprised this page was only 35 hours.

I altered the lighting outside the inn here because I felt it could use a little more color and I think it looks a bit better. Also introducing 2 new characters, Teiya, who owns the inn, and her grandson Tiu, who works for her as an assistant, both Shakatu (bovine race) and I just love their character designs, but they're not all that big on this page so you don't get to see them as well 😂

Though I plan to include them in future pages as well and give them at least some characterization.

Also had some fun designing this balcony tower at the top of the inn. I had to create and render the curved balcony part in 3d (with transparency) so that I could mask the railing tines over Tiil's character layer so I wouldn't have to art that up manually 😰...that would be a nightmare. I've been building a lot of these architectural backgrounds in 3d anyway and painting over, so it works out.
Anyway, enjoy! The next page will NOT take a month and a half to release, I promise 😅
