Very nice, technically, yet a touch more contrast would help, I think, to make it easier to read and comprehend at first glance.

My main criticism is about design. The silhouette (the contour of the outside edge of the figure) could be used to help comprehend the subject, for example, by showing the beak and comb in it. Here they are tangent to it.

Ha! Don't be so hard on yourself, it's quite good. And thanks for the video demo link! (Excellent choice of music.) I will post it tomorrow in my weekly journal!

Ever work with traditional quills and brushes from a bottle of ink?

Lol! Okay. Maybe some time you will do it, again. There is much satisfaction in executing a drawing in this style with the traditional equipment - but takes time to learn.

I understand. Still, learning and training oneself is a continuous process. School is not the end - just the beginning. (What good is fun without challenge?)

Do you keep a schedule?
I started 1/2 hour in the mornings when I drank my coffee. Then I added an hour every other day. Finally, I replaced my dining table with a drawing board and started to work at this all day, every day 6 hours - 8 hours - 10 hours . . . 14 hours.

It took a while to work up to it, but once I learned how the professionals study and work, I followed their example. But it isn't really WORK (haha!) is it?

Well when i start drawing something it took me 10 minutes or hour
I was watching my teachers all the time and use some of them styles to create my own in time
