Er... How do I paste a different photo in a differen layer. I got as far as to poen a pic in paint.net, but then when it came to layers I lost it completely..

It's simple, there's normally a small window on the right side of the screen for layers, and there are 4 buttons at the bottom of that window with which you add, delete merge and copy the layers. Find that and play with it.
If you can't see the tool bar just press F7 to activate it.

this was the missing link in my art work!
i had such a hard time trying to figure out a way to make models look good in SU/3dmax while i already knew digital painting! just had to mix them two !

many thanks it proved very helpful... although you could've added some more panels in between..
because all of the sudden and out of nowhere you put a rendered image into the mix.
but eh I got around it.. I'll post some of my work at a later time...

You're welcome.
This isn't a tutorial for learning how to render or use a specific render engine.I let that part out so that anybody with any renderer can use the style as it involves more post processing than rendering.

Just one thing, which app did you use for the render?

hypershot, but the render app is not that important, you can use almost any renderer just be sure to have the exported jpeg from SU the same resolution as the render.

nice nice. Now I know how to get that good look for models done in Sketchup. Now all I need to do is make stuff in the program hehe.
