Description
This is a pic that I "finished" back in Jan. 2009, but it contained several errors that really annoyed me, so I decided that uploading it for a new audience on dA was a good excuse to fix some of them.Animation illustrating original drawing process: [link]
Original commentary: [link]
The challenge in making this image was to take creatures that were designed to be killed by PCs, remove some of the qualities that were present just to make them vile enough to justify righteous slaughter, and find the beauty in those qualities that make them distinctive. Of course, all of this assumes sexual dimorphism that's roughly equivalent to that seen in humans.
As the engravings overhead indicate, the figures are a bugbear, dragonborn, dwarf, human, hobgoblin, and minotaur.

Gorgous presentation of each of those races/species. They are all beautiful, without losing their species/race identity. I especialy like the Bugbear girl, she is very pretty, and you can easily tell who and what she is.

She isn't, though she is sticking close to the dwarf, perhaps because those two have a long history of cooperation in D&D and are somewhat standoffish regarding the introduction of strange, new PC races.

Great line up!
In traditonal folklore; there were only male minotaurs. They were a race that was created through magic and apparently needed to breed with an elf or human female. The resulting offspring would be a male minotaur.
Then again, that's just what the Greeks say.

I can't say I agree with Dragonborn having mammal parts. Considering that Kenku lay eggs I'm going to preferably assume so do the lizard humanoids.

Aren't they supposedly descended from a race of humans that were really close to dragons or something?
Personally I'd prefer the Dragonboobie over the Dwarf woman...
