These are good, but they don't qualify as sprites. Sprites are small, pixelated images used in games. They generally have around 16 colors, blah blah blah. You know, like on SNES. Those little characters onscreen are sprites.

I didn't feel like building them pixel by pixel.

Ah, okay, well...there are several things in Photoshop that can REDUCE images to "sprites", too. Also, I've found that I can build a decent sprite in a matter of minutes. Of couse, I have tons of spriting experience, but...
