TMNT: HSH - Splinter — Description

Splinter
Alias: Hamato Yoshi
Human-born mutant rat
Hamato Yoshi was born in Osaka, Japan. His father was Hamato Yuuta, leader of the Hamato Clan. He was best friends with Oroku Saki, who was his adopted brother. Saki was like an actual brother to Yoshi. However, their relationship became strained when they both met and fell in love with the same woman, Tang Shen. She was beautiful, intelligent, and sweet. Both Yoshi and Saki had deep affections for Shen. However, Tang Shen chose Yoshi because he was a more kind and gentle man. This, unfortunately, made Saki even more jealous and resentful towards the latter to the point of vengeance. One night, tragedy struck. Saki had killed Yoshi's father, and was about to kill Yoshi next. The two (former) brothers got into a heated battle, causing a fire. However, Saki accidentally killed Tang Shen when she came to protect Yoshi and their newborn daughter, leaving Yoshi devastated. Saki's face became disfigured and bald due to being burned. Yoshi then migrated to New York, where he bought four baby turtles. However, when Yoshi was attacked by two strange men. He and the turtles got covered in mysterious green ooze and mutated in the process. Yoshi mutated into a large rat, and the baby turtles doubled in size. Yoshi, now renamed "Splinter", raised the turtles as his sons and trained them in the art of ninjutsu. While he is a tad bit overprotective and reluctant of letting his sons go to the surface, Splinter gave them the responsibility of becoming true ninjas in becoming New York's lean, green, ninja team guardians, ready face the world from any threat. From the Shredder and the Foot Clan, to the alien race, the Krang.
