Legend :
The Mothman would not be a superhero but a half-insect, half-human creature, who would appear on the eve of catastrophes.
In 1966, several Point Pleasant (West Virginie) residents claimed to have seen a half-man, half-butterfly creature with sparkling red eyes. Until the end of 1967, the testimonies multiply, the monster is called « Mothman ».
On December 15, 1967, Highway 35 connecting the city to Kanauga collapsed, killing 46 people: from then on, Mothman ceased to appear.
She even inspired a film «The Prophecy of Shadows » (2002) with Richard Gere.
