"He-Man"
(Masters of the Universe)
Given a magic sword and granted access to the vast powers within Castle Grayskull, the normally wussy and lazy Prince Adam secretly transforms into He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe, in order to stop Skeletor and his evil minions from taking over Eternia and gaining the secrets of Castle Grayskull for their own nefarious purposes.
This is He-Man, the main character of the series, based on his original appearance from way way back in 1982 when the first toys were released.
One of the main things I wanted to focus on for this stylistic re-imagining, was his hair. I hated how his hair looked like a goofy pageboy cut in the cartoons, there's no way you can look like a bad-ass ass-kicker like that. If you actually look at the toy and pay attention to how the hair is sculpted, its actually just supposed to be a shaggy, shoulder length mess, fitting for what was supposed to have originally been just a barbarian character, limited by the fact that the toy was made almost 30 years ago, sculpting isn't as advanced as it is now. So I used that as my inspiration for his hair and there you have it.
I also wanted to make his Power Sword's hilt look far more like the actual toy's did, if you look at any pictures of the toy sword and how it looked in the cartoon, you'll see what I mean.
The funny thing is, which you can't do much about, is that despite being the main character and iconically identifiable, aesthetically he's just not all that interesting looking visually, he's a very simple barbarian character and it was every other character in the series that ended up being more exciting visually. I think that's where the real success of the line came from, all the unique and imaginative and bizarre characters He-Man interacted with.
(NOTE: this is a work of fiction, this is not for a REAL animated series! I don't work in the animation industry in any way.)
**EDIT: I scaled the size of his head down a bit for better proportions**
