Description
"The Monkey God is freed from it's shakles that has bound him for 500 years. His primal rage, finally unleashed!"This is done for speed and experimenting a new way of painting. I'm trying to bring across the sketchyness of my pencils to digital paint. However this work is done without any prepatory sketches, had a picture in my head and just drafted it out digitally so as to hopefully bring the energy across effectively.
Ya I kinda got hooked to KONG and changed the colors of the Monkey God to a more grounded gorilla tone
Jus gave it a slight tint of gold on its mane to maintain it's original colors. Hope you guys find this work a good step away from my previous works, Cheers!

To me the mane seems a bit un-connected from the rest of the head. You managed to smooth it out on the arm... But I don't know... Looks a bit 'line-e'

You know what you should do? You should get a screen capture program, such as SnagIt 8, and record a screenshot video of you making something like that. It would be so captivating!!!

Actually I took alot of inspiration for this art from another great, Mr Phill Hill. His works have a fantastic sense of action and pose, simply amazing artist. Do check out his works!

the long strands of vine and the splinterd rock (which almost feels like splashing water) really gives a strong sense of movement and energy. the only thing i can think to suggest would be to have some vines farther up his arm, because theres much more torque and power in hand than his middle arm. this is a great experiment!
