Description
Category: InvertebratesDescription: A Hoverfly (about 10 mm in length) sitting on a Stinging Nettle. My second entry for the Detail in Macro photography contest.
Set-up: A 60mm macro lens with 68mm of extension tubes, which produced a magnification ratio close to 2:1. Handheld, using an external flash with a homemade reflector/diffuser attached. 14-bit RAW mode.
Post-editing: Exposure blending in Photomatix Pro. Cropped, re-sized, sharpened and framed in Photoshop CS3.
